Established in 1876 by George Henry Bass, G.H. Bass began with a man on a simple mission -"To make the best possible shoe for the purpose for which it was intended." In 1936, the brand put a stylish spin on a Norwegian farm shoe designed for "loafing in the field," and playfully dubbed them Weejuns -introducing the world's very first penny loafer. Worn by presidents and Hollywood legends alike, Weejuns have been a staple for some of the most influential subcultures in fashion history.
